The underpainting for DRESS-UPS 1, 2, and 3 is from a postcard of a colour woodcut Finken (Finches) c. 1918 by Norbertine von Bresslern-Roth, produced in Europe, now in the collection of the NGA. The finches are Zebra Finches, a species of Australian Grass Finch.
The over-painted grass finches are from left to right:
Dress-ups 1: Star Finch; Gouldian Finch,
yellow-faced form; and Painted Finch.
Dress-ups 2: Double-Bar Finch, white-rumped form; Crimson Finch, white-bellied form; and Chestnut-Breasted Finch.
Dress-ups 3: Long-Tailed Finch, orange-billed form; Plum-Headed Finch; and Blue-Faced Finch.

The underpainting for DRESS-UPS PARROTS is from a reproduction of an Albert Tucker (1914-1999) painting "Parrots in a Queensland Landscape" c.1961, oil on canvas, 76 x 61 cm. The parrots in Tucker's painting are Rainbow Lorikeets.
The overpainted parrots are the Red-capped Parrot, the Elegant Parrot, the Twenty-eight Parrot, the Purple-crowned Lorikeet, and the Western Rosella.
